Derek Walker serves as Director Quality & Environmental &
Sustainability at Coca Cola Southwest Beverages (CCSWB) based in Dallas,
TX. CCSWB is part of the Arca
Continental (3rd largest Global bottler of Coca Cola). Dr. Walker has more than 20 years of
experience in “Consumer Packaged Goods” and 8 years of experience in the
Quick Service Restaurant industry.
Prior to his current position, Derek served as a Practice Leader and
developed the Food Industry & Science recruiting business at Kaye Bassman
International. In addition, Dr. Walker held roles as Vice President, Research
&Development for Jack in the Box Inc (San Diego, CA)., and Global Vice
President, Research & Development/Quality Management for Papa John’s
International (Louisville, KY).
Previous positions also included being the Director of Packaging &
Processing for Ocean Spray Cranberries Inc. (Middleboro, MA), Director,
Continuous Improvement – Process for Sara Lee Corporation (Chicago, IL), Vice
President Research & Development /Quality Assurance at Sara Lee
Corporation’s State Fair Foods Division (Dallas, TX). Dr Walker’s early career included positions
R&D and Product Development at both Pizza Hut (Wichita, KS) and General
Mills Inc (Minneapolis, MN). Dr.
Walker is very passionate about blending technical capability, leadership
capability and business acumen to show how technical functions can been
viewed as “value added” by incorporating business context into technical
decisions. Dr. Walker is proud
Oklahoma State University alumnus. He has earned a B.S. Animal Science, M.S.
and a Ph.D. in Food Science. Dr. Walker is married to Brenita Randle Walker
and they have one daughter. He enjoys fishing all around North America and
attending Oklahoma State University athletic events.|
