Jill grew up in rural North Carolina surrounded by talented teachers who taught her a love of writing. She is the author of six books including Women Make Great Leaders.She is a Forbes.com columnist and internationally-published Harvard “Working Knowledge” author. Her first book, Customer Loyalty: How to Earn It, How to Keep it won her“best seller” status when the US Postal Service bought 22,000 copies to help teach small businesses the science of direct mail. Since 2003, Jill has served as an Independent Board Director for Luby’s/Fuddruckers Restaurants.
Jill began her career in Brand Management at R.J. Reynolds, where she rose to manage the corporation’s largest brand, Winston. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with Bachelor of Science and MBA degrees from the University of South Carolina Moore School of Business. Jill is the recipient of the School’s 2013 Distinguished Alumna Award and was honored to be a commencement speaker for the graduating class of 2018. Jill’s interests include yoga, acrylic painting, biking, and American history.
